An Imposter Among Doves & Fire Fairies

Snapping pictures of a flock of roughly 15 mourning doves out back, I inadvertantly caught a little imposter among them. This little pine warbler (on the stump to the right,) swooped in at the perfect moment. (As usual, click on the picture for a larger version.)

A sketch I did earlier this year (& have since gifted to a friend); "Fire Fairies." The original doesn't have as much contrast as this scan, but it's the only way the details would show clearly. I tried airbrushing it about 2 months ago, but it turned out to be a frustrating, utter failure. I haven't touched the airbrush since. If anything, I've been trying to sell the whole

Lana -

Going back to yesterday's post - you seem to have a lot of different species of sparrows. Think we only have one common one, the house sparrow, and that's pretty much in decline (loss of habitat?).

Did you train in art at some point?

Been thinking about that waking dream state - noticed its easier to go back into distant memories then.

Julie; Yes, we get a fairly wide variety of sparrows here (during this migratory time of year.) I used to see house sparrows growing up in New York (& perhaps in Canada,) but not here (yet, anyway.)
I took art all through my grade school years & I took an airbrushing course when I was 21 or so, but that's about it.
I'm usually too busy remembering dreams to do much else.
