It's been suggested to me before & since it's a favorite photography subject of mine, I've decided to participate in Tom Wigley's
Sky Watch when I can. This picture is of Thursday evening's sunset/moonrise. I was taking pictures of the
other side of the sky & when I turned around to go back in the house, this was the image I saw. We get some stunning skies out here.

perfect catch for Sky Watch Friday! earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books…. Mine’s up too hope you can drop by but if you already visited then thanks.

Mountain Retreat
WOW! How beautiful that is! Maybe a painting in the future?
:)
Good shot. Don't you wish you had eyes in the back of your head so you would never miss anything! I like the way the trees provide the frame for the photo.
There's a moon in the sky called the Moon ;-> (B52s)
Whow!
I've been looking at all the lovely photos, and am quite impressed with your eye, Lana.
very dramatic. it's amazing what you can see when you don't have tall buildings messing up the view of things.
Thanks, all, for the warm welcome to Sky Watch &/or for the kind words!
Chris; A painting in the farrrrr future, maybe! This panel (for the park) has got me falling SOOO behind on my "usual" projects, but it's for a great cause. :)
Erik; Gotta love the B-52s!
nice pics you have
Love the color.

A beautiful contribution to Sky Watch! Welcome! I look forward to seeing more of your photography.
It certainly is a stunning image. Well done!
This is a lovely shot, I have not tackled any sky shots yet, so this is tempting me to do some :)
This is beautiful, Lana!
Wow. That picture is gorgeous.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words. :) Ironically, sunset the next night was even more stunning!
Great photo, Lana. It's beautiful.
The sun didn't set here last evening, instead it got blotted out by thunderstorms.
Marvin; Thanks. We got thunderstorms, too. More thunder today, but no rain. We're actually badly in need of rain, so I hope it starts again.
Brilliant photo!! It's amazing the views we have in our own backyards.
Barbara; Thank you. :)
Beautiful! :)
You always find such stunning sky's!
Michelle & Mon@rch; Thanks. :)
