It's so frenzied. I love how they feed.
charles; Yes...They remind me of you. ;) (kdn!)
Love the sound of that rain.
travis; It's the tin roof on our deck. We love it, too. :)
It looks lie those birds are very hungry and having a blast.-It just started raining here-I think I'll go have something to eat then climb a tree or something.
sounds like hail!
ready for the hurricane? i know it's eyeballing florida, but one never knows....
That rain is refreshing to see and hear since I'm in Vegas and it is something like 108 outside.
We've got some real fatty feeders from the butcher shop, make the finches, fantails and silvereye go nuts like that.
Cool!
They're crazy! LOL!
larry; Sometimes the bird activity is so frenetic my brain can hardly stand it. Particularly the 1st feeding in the morning. It's nuts!
laughingwolf; When a leaf or a twig falls onto the deck's tin roof it sounds like a freaking elephant! *L* I don't worry about hurricanes until I have to, actually. I'm hoping for the best, of course, but one never knows. At least we're significantly above sea level now!
travis; The rain cooled things off so nicely here we were actually able to go sit out on the deck for a while. Very nice. Hope you're enjoying Vegas, though!
steve; I used to have a suet feeder out there, too, but the raccoons ripped it down off the tree. Once in a while I still do them up a nice suet mix, though.
michelle; Nuts is an understatement, sometimes!
I can almost smell the rain. It's one of those experiences that touches so many senses, eh? The sound, smell, feel, and even taste.
Nice video.
:-)
Makes me think of a Janis Joplin opener in a song.
S-s-s-s- Sittin' by the windowr
Looking out at the rain..."
Man, that's an all-weather bird!
chris; Thanks. For some reason videos play much clearer directly on my computer than through YouTube. Ah, well!
ivan; I'm surprised at how much rain the birds can still function in, particularly the smaller ones (chickadees, etc.) Resillient little buggers.
Hunger drives a lot of us to manic behavior. But that--it's like sharks with feathers!
eric; Yes...flying fish, in a sense. *L*
It always amazes me how the birds can keep on as if nothing is amiss, Lana, during thunderstorms. Great video. :D We also had a hard rain yesterday.
Hugs, JJ
jj; We've been getting hard rains for 3 or 4 days now! Poor birdies!
We got a lot of rain here too. A beautiful butterfly of moth was in my garage this a.m. possibly blown off course somehow.
I got a not-great pic I'll post soon.
sidney; Oooh! I'd love to see one of those. They live in our area, but I haven't spotted one yet. Looking forward to your picture!
That rain sounds like ours on the conservatories roof. You can't hear yourself think!
What some rain you've had but the birds just eat on.
monique; Yes, the rain on the tin roof even overpowers the sound of our central A/C unit (which is right next to the deck.)
