Lana, these drawings are beautiful. I love the beauty and the beast one. Very nice, excellent detail (from what I can see).

Have these been submitted for book covers?

What medium did you use for the Blue heron?

Wow, beautiful work, just stunning!

NW; Thank you. Unfortunately a lot of detail is lost in digitizing. As great as computers are, they often virtually (pun intended,) destroy graphic works. B/W's not typically picked for book covers. Color sells much more effectively. Not sure if I submitted any of these, in particular, but around that time I did send some out here & there. No takers, unfortunately. Hard to break into those kinds of things.

pj; The original is an acrylic painting.

birdfreak; Thank you. :)

I want to talk to you about using some of these as interior illos perhaps in future Taleran books.

Love your talent.

ab fab, lana...

charles has a good idea for future taleran books, too :)

Lana, if no one else has dibs on Great Blue Heron, I'd like to buy that one.

Lana Gramlich said...

charles; I love your many talents & would love to contribute to the Talera Cycle. :)

laughingwolf; Thanks.

shauna; Deal. I'll e-mail you. ;)

A former inmate that worked for me had a huge graphite sketch showing at the University of Michigan. Some of the artwork was sold for a nice sum of money; however, he wanted me to have his sketch (which took 1st place in his division). Are most of these graphite sketches?

The last sketch you display is the most unusual; kind of like the melding of two art forms.

Lana Gramlich said...

jr; That was actually very cool of the former inmate. Yes, all of the black & whites are graphite sketches. The last one's a fairly recent one. Unfortunately a lot of the details in it were lost to digitizing.

Hey beautiful Lana,

Pictures are great as always! I'm in the midst of chaos right now, but would love to buy one of your photographs when the dust settles. I'll e-mail you when I get a chance.

Not just a streak of talent; Talent.

Wish my picture file weren't corrupted. Wish I weren't corrupted. I would have reproduced with your permission.

Wow! These are really amazing! Drawing from the imagination is difficult to do well and you have done brilliantly.

OMG you're such an awesome artist! These pictures are so detailed and beautiful.

These are just beautiful and I think you are seriously underpricing your work. I know you're trying to work out the whole art marketing thing, so I won't presume to advise you, but there's a niche for this kind of work and you just need to find it. You're extremely talented.

u draw it>?

Lana Gramlich said...

michelle('s spell); Thank you! Feel free to pop me an e-mail whenever. :)

ivan; Thank you so much. I'm flattered. If you manage to get uncorrupted at some point, feel free to reproduce (just point some credit my way.)

michelle (artscapes); Thanks. Back then I had quite the wild imagination. Unfortunately these kinds of works aren't terribly popular beyond the penniless kid set. <:\

christina; Thank you. Sometimes I consider doing another drawing but dang, it's long, hard work!

lisa; I appreciate it, but these have been collecting dust long enough. Back when I did them, I searched desperately for the niche to no avail, which is partly why I don't tend to do fantasy art much anymore. Ironically, once I gave it up, it became more acceptable/respected, if not outright popular. Still, here in the bible belt, this kind of stuff is highly frowned upon, unfortunately.

budakhutan; As the post indicates, yes, these are all my creations.
