Lana, your work has a wonderfully quiet feeling to it. I love it.
All; Thanks for the kind comments. :)
Wow, I thought it was a photo when I first looked at it.You are so talented!
You have quite a range. This is special in its simplicity and monochromatic palatte.
Ditto for me. I thought I was looking at a photo at first. Absolutely beautiful!
shauna & drowsey; Thank you!paul; Thanks. :) Originally I was going to try to reproduce the photo as closely as I could, but I got to this point & knew it was done.
bee-you-tee-ful! I thought it was a photo at first!
Awesome! I love how you did it with b&w and background matte.
That is pure grace and sheer elegance, Lana.
roadgurl5 & david; Thank you. :)tabib; Thanks. "Birds on white backgrounds" is kind of a theme for me, but this was the first time I used a flock of birds instead of just one.
Beautifully simple, its lovely and I do love your mermaids below. I love fantasy subjects :)
Whoa they look so real. Wonderful painting, Lana. :-D
david cranmer; Apologies--I didn't see your comment there! Thank you kindly.chrissy; Thanks. I'd kind of gotten away from fantasy subjects, as they're hard to sell where I live, but I love them, too, so I deserve to indulge. :)dh; Thank you!
Quite lovely. I'd love to see them on a much bigger scale, maybe a canvas three or four feet wide.
steve; Blarg! I don't know if I have it in me to "work big" anymore, although I do entertain the notion now & again!
This is beautiful Lana.I think it would make a lovely textile design too :D
That is amazing. Nature is such a perfect art. There are so many beautiful things in life.
miladysa; Thanks. You've got a good idea there!christina; Thank you. Yes, I think often that there's nothing more beautiful than nature, itself. I gave up painting for about 10 years on that premise, alone. Anything I could create would be a paltry imitation, at best. I learned that there's a place for artistic expression, too, however.
Wonderful "in flight" painting! They look so calm and peaceful. Are they migrating?
chris; Thanks. No...They're year round natives to the gulf coast area. I've linked up a page about them to the title of the painting, for more info.

In another's hand the starkness of color could have made the piece seem bleak, but you've created an ethereal, otherworldly scene. Very nice.
