I love the angle of the tree shot. The rest are gorgeous too. Would love to share mine with you!

I like them all...love the one with the trees..just something about it.
Do you know what kind of bird that is in the second picture? Just kind of wondering.

A wonderful series!
I especially love the first one looking through the trees and the one of the moon is very nice.

charles; Thank you, honey. I love the way you point out allllllll the things I overlook. We make a great team!

lucy; Thanks. I popped over to see your blog & noticed that we're both Coke addicts in one form or another. ;) *L* My sympathies.

rose; The bird in the 2nd picture is a common nighthawk.

carletta; Thank you. We love our local, endangered, longleaf pine forest. :)

Your pictures are really beautiful! I especially like the first picture. It makes me think of the swamp area in South Georgia.
In reference to your comment on Picture This. I want the post to stay at the top for two weeks so I have to post date it.

Hi, great set of photos here, loved every one of them.

Lana, they are all nice, but that first one is my favorite. Very dramatic composition.

That first one particularly makes me miss Louisiana.

That first one would make such a cool painting - especially with the way you do skies...!

I need to get away from the heavily populated area I call home. If I didn't fish, I'd probably lose my mind.

Pretty, pretty, pretty. There is nothing like gazing at a beautiful sky. D

The crescent moon caught between the branches is lovely.

Thanks all for the kind comments. I'm just glad we live so close to this wonderful preserve. As JR put it, without stuff like that I'd probably go nuts. :)

Beautiful set of pictures for this week!

Lana Gramlich said...

travis; Glad to oblige. :)

laughingwolf; It's not really all that much to fly down, you know. I mean, more than it used to be, of course, but I don't know that you'd need to win the lottery. *L*

roadgurl5; Thanks. Hubby & I like to go for midnight hikes here during the full moon, too. I got a shot of Mars out there once. Great views!

mary hughes; Thank you kindly. :)

Oh I love that first one with trees growing like asparagus. Nice birds and others as well.

Hi Lana, loved the moon. :-)

Amazing photographs Lana!

The third one really grabs me, something quite magical about it :-D

Birdfreak said...

Gorgeous times a hundred! Especially love the nighthawk shot!

Good birding to you!

Lana Gramlich said...

arija; Thank you. Those trees are longleaf pines, which are greatly endangered here in the US. 98% of our once vast longleaf pine forest is gone. I treasure what we have left (while I can.)

punam & miladysa; Thanks. :)

birdfreak; Back atcha, of course. It took me quite a while to ID that nighthawk (I'd never seen one before,) but I was delighted when I finally put 2 + 2 together!
