A great blue heron.
A blue crab.
Hard to see in these photos, but the farther the sun sank toward the horizon, the more we were inundated by dragonflies. By the time we left there were hundreds of them all over the marsh.
On the other side of the sky, the moon rose. In the enlarged version (click to see,) the dark spots & streaks close to the horizon are some of the dragonflies.
Afterwards we went out for a delicious, Italian dinner (& our waiter treated us to an enormous slab of chocolate cake, gratis.) It was early to bed so we could get up before dawn for another hike...Stay tuned! To be honest, I'd deactivated my FB account over a year ago. Only reactivated it at the urging of others, who still don't bother keeping touch, anyway. FB just makes me repost things that are already on my blog, with the added benefit of dealing with ads & app BS, so I'm done with it. Ironically, you're one of the very first people who've actually noticed!
