This photo has made it to the finals of an online "Fall Colors" contest. Update (12/26/08); I didn't win the contest, but thanks to everyone for the support!
Lana, you know by now how I love the accidental shot with a disposable camera and all that, but I think this is one of the best photos I've ever seen. Is that grey at the end water or a bldg or sky? You got my vote.
That photo is beautiful...I love how the foliage is framed by the tree trunks...anyways, I voted, looks like you've got 50 votes now and are well ahead! Good luck! :o)
NW; Thanks & no problem. Life happens, of course! It could be for sale, if I can locate the original photo. Let me know if you're interested (or know someone who is,) & I'll poke around for it. I think I know where it is.
I voted, but you are crushing your competition 3 to 1 currently, so really, my vote meant very little.
And thanks for the plaintive/plaintiff distinction. Refinement can take a terribly long time to achieve, so thanks for helping to speed that along! Now to gracefully edit in kind...
Ivan; Actually my competition will certainly be catching up over the next week & ultimately all of the votes only count for 25% of the final decision, but every little bit helps, so thank you! :)
Barbara; Anytime! Thanks for visiting mine, too. :)
Avery, Lynda & Miladysa; Thanks, all! Voting continues for another 10 days yet, so we'll have to see what happens to my lead. Ultimately 75% of the final vote comes down to the 3 people running the site, so we'll see what happens! *fingers crossed*
Merisi; Thanks. Per the instructions provided in the post, to vote you click on how many stars you want to rate it. If you saw the number beneath the stars increase by one, it worked.
Thanks, Rick! I don't have any dragon paintings right now, but I do have prints of pencil sketches (which are typically more detailed than my paintings.) I'm on my way to work now, but I'll try to pop you off an e-mail with samples later.

Very nice. And to think, I was there when you took this one.
Thanks, all! I appreciate the support & kind words.
Wayne; That "white" is actually an illusion created by an opening in the underbrush, looking out onto more distant trees.
Charles; Actually you weren't. This is one from Short Hills in Canada, taken years ago. I brought you in my heart, though. :)

Wonderful photo of the autumn path! I can hear the crinkly leaves crack underfoot while walking in the vestiges of summer.
Thank you, Lana, for visiting my blog.
JJ; Thanks much. :)

Wondeful pic.
But so late at night here.
I'll try to figure it all out in the morning.
I guess basically I'm technologically challenged.
Yowza, I need to get on it!
ivan; It's very easy. I included the instructions in the post. No problem if you can't swing it, though. It's the thought that counts. :)
Erik; Don't worry, there's time yet. ;) *L* I'm not flaying (or filleting,) anyone who doesn't vote--no worries!
