The coots are adorable Lana. As always you've delivered such great examples to enjoy and learn from. As for sunsets? Anyone that shoots them like you do wins me over. Really!! :O) God Bless...
Bernie; Glad you like the photos & that y'all have warmed up a bit (even if it IS temporary.)
Nomad; Thank you. You're too kind.
Tabib; Glad you like our birds. Variety's the spice of life! :)
JafaBrit; Thanks!
Skippy; Thank you. That golden background is the lower part of the sunset, zoomed way in on my camera.
Charles; Yeah, that was a distant photo, zoomed way in. I think that one came out pretty cool.
Chrissy; Thanks. I've long known that I MUST always have access to the north/east side of a lake, not just for photographs, but for the views, in general.
Wow, I really really love that really orange sky shot up there, with the lone bird flying across it...reminds me, actually, I gotta write a blog post about orange....
Wow! That orange sky with the pelican is amazing! I don't see great sunsets like that around here (or was that a sunrise?). The last sunset is gorgeous also...must be your warm weather?
holly; Thank you! I have a good "feel" for when we're going to have a good sunset (although sometimes shifting clouds prove me wrong, anyway.) If you look at the more panoramic sunset, you can see where the orange areas are. The pelican photo was taken in one of those areas at the maximum zoom on my 300mm lens.

Actually our weather has warmed up nicely we are expecting storms on Wednesday and then back to heavy snow and cold over the weekend !!

You make me happy with variety of birds pics here.
Thanks for sharing!
phew, your sunset photograph is stunning. I so enjoying looking at it.
The Sunset is amazing but If I am given a chance to choose one I'll go with the brown pelicans.. It has a beautiful golden background.
Yeah, the pelican with the gold background is very cool. If I hadn't experienced that moment I might think the image was doctored.
Fabulous images Lana...it looks like the sort of place that I would love to visit :-) I love your sunsets over the lake too.

Those American Coots are sooo cute :D
Hey that rhymes!
Miladysa; Yes, the coots are precious. There was a line of HUNDREDS of them farther out in the marsh.
This is the first time I have seen coots!!! How beautiful.
Aren't bald eagle nests something to see!!!
Great pics and super post. I love visiting your blog. :D
Hugs, JJ
great shots. i especially love the one of the sky and the lone bird.
250 photos. that's a lot. can you imagine doing that with print film?
A cute coot! Stunning photos and love your eagle nest shot!
Love the orange in those sunset shots.
Beautiful, and stunning.
Absolutely breathtaking shots! Thank you for sharing, Lana!
JJ; The coots were darling. They kept diving for marsh weeds & popping back up. I have a little video of that I may embed.
NW; Thanks. I wouldn't WANT to imagine doing it with print film, y'know? Crazy! I'm a total digicam addict now, I admit it.
Travis; Thanks. I liked all of the rays coming through the clouds, too.
Monarch, Erik & Lisa; Thank you. :) Always glad to share!
I've been called an old coot!
Dave; Well, the general consensus is that they're cute, so I guess that's a compliment? *L*

Jay; Glad you like it. If you look at the larger image, you see more of the detail in the pelican silhouette. :)
That last picture...WOW.
Yet another sunset? If they are this stunning, I say keep 'em coming.
Travis; Thanks much. :)
Ooooh, pretty....
:-)
Those sunset scenes are terrific! I like the one of the two birds-coot picture.
Steve; Like music for the eyes. ;)
Larry; Thanks. I liked that shot of the coots, too. The full size version's pretty cool.

Dr. Jay; In future, feel free (with credit & backlink, if you'd be so kind!)
Lana:
I'm a sucker for images that include sunbeams. Yes, I'm talking about the sunset last photo. : D
Mo : )
