Random Birds & My Art Display

We had a couple of rare bird visitors to our yard lately. Working on a couple of art applications at my computer yesterday afternoon, movement out my window attracted my eye. A great blue heron flew low across the yard & over the house. This morning, watching out the window in Charles' office, the birds came for seed like a torrential downpour (I'd fed them a bit later than usual, so they were hungry & waiting.) As I pointed them out to Charles, a pair of hairy woodpeckers landed on the tree right in front of the window. Although I've seen both of these birds here before, it's only been once (each,) in 2 1/2 years, & never a pair of either. I hope that the woodpecker sighting implies that they're nesting nearby & we'll have new chicks to watch this Summer.
Here's a little video of the coots bobbing for marsh weeds at Fontainebleau the other day. It's very short & you can hear Charles burp at the end.

Here are a few pictures of my display at Mandeville City Hall;

Beautiful work!

Cool displays. Those are set up beautifully.

Yeah, the sound of my burp has now been heard across the land.

Your work and display is beautiful!
Take care.

Striking.

Somehow think that if Thoreau could paint, he'd take his Walden experiences and set them down atop the gesso.
Somehow think of you as half ornithologist and half painter down there at the pond.

Funny thing.

If you google in Canada today there is a springtime theme with a spattering of birds.
Somehow made me think of you.
But you paint serious birds! :)

Beautiful Display
I wish I can have a closer look to those pictures

Carol & Sadia; Thank you.

Charles; Guess I should have warned you that I was going to shoot a little video. ;)

Ivan; You're too kind, as always.

Skippy; You can get a closer look, via the links in the sidebar to the paintings, themselves. They're all on the blog. ;)

Cute coot video! :)

Your art work is so colorful . . . it really livens up City Hall! That's wonderful, Lana.

How nice to have your own display at City Hall! Do they allow you to sell from there?

I enjoyed your video. You can hear the wind--it sounds exactly the same when recorded by my SONY digicam!

Beautiful work (not you, Charles--yours was just passable). My favorite is the one in the top left corner of the top left image. Gorgeous colors--like fall and the sunset collided.

Lisa; Thanks.

Lynda; Although City Hall doesn't do any cash transactions on my behalf, I do have my flyers, brochures & biz cards on the little table (in the 2nd picture.)
Yes, it was a crazy-windy day at the marsh. Maybe the stirring winds contributed to the abundance of birds that day.

Avery; Thank you. Like virtually everything else, that's for sale. ;)

Lana, the library made a poster for me and put an announcement in their newsletter, etc. And they printed my price list and bio for me.

I would rather they had done it on white paper, though, instead of hot pink! But I DO appreciate the time they took to support my show.

I thought I was taking pictures of ducks while we were driving. It was only rocks. I blame the weather and the lack of wearing my glasses.

I love the art. It's nice to see your wall of projects.

I love the splashes of color on your display wall.

Lynda; Hot pink? Oh my! My City Hall show has been/is being promoted through a local newspaper, magazine & lightboard (all of which, of course, list me as "Lara Gramlich.")

Christina; Thank you. *LOL @ the duck/rocks.* I once saw a pair of shoes along a road that turned out to be ducks. They're the chameleons of the waterfowl world, it seems.

Travis; Thanks. I'm not afraid of color (clearly,) but that's not the popular view these days, unfortunately. Still, I gotta do what I gotta do!

City Hall?! You are compliling one impressive resume, young lady!

And I agree, your work is beautiful...

Lana, the work is cool as every. Never go beige on me. Remember, I have the mermaids with pink and purple hair! And am painting my foyer periwinkle this weekend!

I'm with you on liking bright colors. Congrats on being displayed in the mayor's office.

Cute video and the artwork display is very nice.

Steve; You're too kind. The City Hall gig was a matter of calling the woman last summer & scheduling it for her first, available opening. ;)

Jodi; My last apartment was largely bright purple, too. I'm definitely not a beige person. *L*

Shauna & Barbara; Thank you!

Lana:

I enjoyed seeing your colorful paintings. They were calming. Yes, I did click on them to see them big on my screen. And I saw your reflection too. : )

Mo : )

Mo; Yeah, that's me on the alligator glass. *L* All of the paintings there have been displayed individually on my blog, too (for better, larger views.) Glad you enjoyed! :)
