Lake Ramsay & New Painting

We hadn't been there in a long, long time, so Charles & I went for a hike at Lake Ramsay the other day. Due to the denseness of the woods & the time of day, there wasn't much I could shoot without my flash, but we had a great time, anyway. I always love coming out in the restored pine savanna, which is the farthest point from the parking lot (if one can call it that.) We made it just in time for sunset, which meant a mad dash back to the car in rapidly fading light.

In other news, I completed another painting; "Morning on the Bayou." I've put many of my available paintings on sale & am now accepting orders for the holidays.

If it's true that there is an association between time spend considering natural beauty and the beauty of one's soul, it would explain a lot about you and Charles.

I agree with Rick (above).

What, we were at the pine savannah? I was just watching you the whole time. I missed everything else. ;)

It looks lovely and I very much like your new painting, it does really does refelct that morning glow.
Sorry about not commenting over there but you have a different comment box system on that blog and it won't work with my daytime computer.
I really like your image on your header, how did I miss it previously?

Hey Lana,

Really lovely pictures -- sounds like a great time. I'm not a big one for nature, but you make it look awfully inviting . . .

Whoaaahhhh, link overload. More stimulus then what the government loaned our banks and the auto companies combined. I'll try to check it out.

Haunted pines. There's nothing quite like a good mad dash, is there>

Today the Dynamo forced me to walk up a nearly vertical stretch of tree-thatched granite. I thought of you and Charles and your lovely pix-- when I wasn't gasping for breath and praying for the sweet release of death or coma.... ;p

Looks like a great place to be (during the daylight). I love that sunset shot framed between the tall pines.

Great pictures--the last one in particular. We've lost a lot of the fall colors out here at this point, and it is difficult to find a good subject before the snow falls.

Happy thanksgiving, honey! Hope it is a good one -- I'm going to do nothing and I'm sure (to quote Office Space) it will be everything I thought it would be. :)
