18x24" acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas
Regular readers of my blog might recognize this image, which I originally came up with in late 2007. It was done on an 8x10" canvasboard back then, which is too small to sell (generally speaking.) Not to mention that Charles really loved it, so I decided we'd keep it (& it still hangs on our wall.) For a painting that's never been for sale, however, it's generated a lot of interest. In that vein, I recently decided it was time to paint it again, this time large enough to make a sale worthwhile.
I'll be bringing it to Potter Greenthumb's (in Abita Springs) this morning. The proprietor there mentioned the other day that my treatment of light seems to do particularly well, so this should fit right in.

Lana, whilst I have been away, I seem to have missed loads on your blog. Both this and the Missisppi queen are very beautiful....
I really, really like this mystical phase you are doing. I love all your paintings but these really appeal to me. I also love the sunset post, fabulous colours, even more vibrant than some of those last year :D
They are both stunning. This one, I think, is my favorite!
Amazing!
LOVE you work, Lana

Oh Goddd Lana, do you know what this looks like? I would love to meditate on this picture and imagine I am enter the opening and experience the light of God, and pure divine bliss.
It is amazing! What have you used? Oil paints?
Regards, Punam
And yes, God-willing, I'd love to buy it from you someday!
Chrissy & Cloudia; Thanks much, hon. :)
BigGiantHat; Thanks. I'm glad you like it!
Punam; I get that kind of interpretation fairly often. Actually the painting was inspired by a photo I took at dawn some years ago. As stated, the painting is an acrylic. It's on display & for sale in a flower & treat shop in the town where I live (I've done some good business there.)
Very magical. It seems to operate on various levels, and in some strange way reminds me a bit of Magritte.
I definitely get the "going into the light" vibe from this. I hope "the light" has such nice scenery leading up to it. Black tunnels just seem so anticlimactic. Maybe souls would get distracted by pretty gardens, though, and hang around too long. I imagine it gets very congested in there...
Sorry. Imagination ran away with me.
Love it. ; )
I could totally see myself walking on the corridor and getting to a beautiful garden on the other side. So pretty!
Wow ... Very nice .. vibrant
Lana you got some skills :)

nothingprofound; That's very kind--thank you!
AvDeeBee; There's lots of room for souls in need of a garden. :)
Deray & AGAPI Studios; Thanks!
Ali; I'd better...I've only been at this for 20ish years now! Thanks. ;)
Hey honey,
this is really wonderful. I think the image would make an awesome book cover for one of Charles' books. Really haunting!
This evokes the Other Side, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, the dawning of a new day . . .
Love it love it love it!
It's absolutely stunning!
Michelle & TT; Thanks. :)
Erik; Yes, I do seem to get such comments fairly often with this one. Thanks you!
celticmusicfan; I'm glad. :)
Nice work! Autumn is the best time of year, I catch myself painting it all year long! I like your focal point, makes me want to be in your painting!
Christine; Thanks. :) We don't really get the fall colors down here in Louisiana--one thing I miss from the North.
