A few shots I took wandering around my neighborhood one morning last week...
(Update, Apr. 3, 2011; This piece rec'd 1st Place [photography] in the Lacombe Art Guild's spring show. Update, Jul. 15, 2011; This photo took 1st Place [photography] in Slidell Art League's "Cirque du Sol Art" show as well as a Purchase Award from Slidell Memorial Hospital [who hosted the show.])
NERTS! I cannot see well as you know. I am working on a keyboard with no lettering on the keys and struggling to learn how to touch type without eyesight as a back up. I would like to correct my comment above.
These photos are gorgeous. Are the orange flowers wallfowers? The orange is so vibrant against the foggy background.
What a gem your site is! I even got to know you a little bit more through your interview. You were able to capture that peacefulness of an early morning.
Your paintings are another thing. They're absolutely fantastic. You must live in a place that's abolutely gorgeous and inspiring to produce work like yours.
These photographs are so evocative, quite mystical. You are a very talented photographer as well as an artist, it's asthough when you take a photograph, you are seeing it as canvas.
I can almost feel the damp chill in the air in these wonderful photos. The eerie solitariness fog creates in the early morning, when the whole world, except oneself, seems asleep.
TT; NP on the typos, of course. ;) Thanks for your kind comments. The flowers are some kind of bidens. There are so many different kinds of them in our area I haven't been able to discern exactly what kind they are. They're very beautiful, though. Love to see them all over this time of year. :)
Funkkeejooce; Thanks so much...You're too kind! Yes, the area I live in is just awesome. We love it here so much we even got married on our deck!
Juliana; Thanks, hon. I do try to use my artistically-trained "eye" when taking photos. Nice to know it's working! ;)
G; Thanks, hon. I strive to portray serenity for the most part, so I'm glad it's getting across.
nothingprofound; You've described it perfectly, of course. It was a wonderful morning!
Charles; You were sleeping so well I didn't want to disturb you...
Maalie; Thank you!
TJ Lubrano; Thanks--they do look better enlarged, I think. I recently got a 30x20" print of the 2nd shot to enter in a local art show. I hope it sells!
FreakSmack; Thanks, hon. I appreciate the Headless Horseman reference. I think you've nailed it!
Rick; Perhaps they're like mood captured in 1s & 0s these days. *L* Which one do you like & what size might you be interested in? I can do 8x10, 11x14, 16x20 or 20x30, depending on which one you like.

Truly great stuff.

Great interview and those photos definitely can bring a certain peace of mind for the moment.

Can't believe I slept through that one.
What beautifully evocative pictures Lana.
I enlarged the pictures and they look so stunning!! I love them :D
The two with the bend in the road look like the headless horseman should come riding out of the fog... Cool pics Lana!
I love fog and mist.

Travis E.; Me, too. :)
Could be the rural Big Island (Hawaii), Northern California,
or paleolithic times, Lana!

Love them! Love the winding road in the first one and the light in the second one, but all are superb!
:)
Nice!
Amazing shots of the fog.
Cloudia, Rico & Travis; Thanks!
Claire; Thank you kindly. We're really lucky with the scenery where we live. Most of these shots were taken within 30 or 40' of my house.
I love the softness of a foggy morning---we've had many here, too, these past few weeks. And when the sun breaks through...it's amazing.
The fog and tree scenes are ominous and ethereal at the same time. Cool.
Amazing how something so simple as a photo of dew on a leaf can give you a feeling of peace.
debra; Agreed. I love when that happens.
Kelly; Thank you kindly. :)
I've got to have one these! They're like mood captured on film- of course, they don't use film anymore, but you know what I mean.

Beautiful foggy shots!
Halcyon; Thank you kindly. I just totally lucked out, really!
OMG - Those are stunning images and the one selected as photo of the week is breathtaking! You are getting more talented every day!
Michelle; Thanks, hon. You're so sweet. :)
love those foggy shots. I have fog here today, but no sun shows up. :(
NatureFootstep; Thanks. It's amazing, sometimes, how long the fog resists the sun!
Wow, these fog shots are stunning!
Thanks, Lynda. I'm glad you like them. :)
I love these misty shots, they are so beautiful Lana, nice one :)
Chrissy; Thanks, hon. I love fog, so I was so happy when I saw it rolling in that morning. :)
All I can say is WOW to those fog pics! AWESOME GIRL!
Christine; Thanks. :) Sometimes there's a benefit to having trouble sleeping.
