Blogiversary and More

Today's the 3rd blogiversary of "The Dreaming Tree." Thanks to all of my readers, to those who shared it with others, to Google for pointing so many people in my direction and for hosting the blog, gratis, here on Blogger. It's be a fun ride for me--I hope it has been for you, as well.

In art news, I recently had another interview published. Also, tomorrow (from 4:30-9pm,) I'll be at Postal Plus for Arts Evening (in Slidell, LA,) again this year. Hope to see you there!

As previously promised, here are more shots from our recent, sunrise hike at Big Branch Marsh NWR...

Yaupon holly, a common, local, evergreen shrub.

As mentioned in a previous post, the marsh at Fontainebleau State Park goes on for miles, eventually becoming the marsh here at Big Branch Marsh NWR. Here's looking at it from the other side.

Mystery seed pod that I thought was kind of pretty.

Female rainbow scarab, a local dung beetle.

Mystery purple puff flower, no bigger than an inch across. ID suggestions welcome.

Saw palmetto with berries.

I liked the way the shadows almost paralleled the clouds here.

Water lilies, ubiquitous in much of the open water at this site.

Light in the pine savanna.

A broken, withered branch, yet very lovely.

Far from the water, a crab discarded or dropped on the grass.

Marsh grasses.

A variegated fritillary (thanks again to Vernon Antoine Brou for the ID!)

Don't forget to come see me at Arts Evening!

Congrats on the 3rd year anniversary of your blog.

Those pics are really cool and I'm glad that I found your blog to peruse. Although I have a tendency to comment on a infrequent basis, I really do enjoy visiting your blog.

Happy blogiversary! It's so good to see that you are getting interviews and adding to your fame - nice to see a hard working person doing well :)

That rainbow scarab is incredible - dung beetles are such impressive creatures.

So many gorgeous pictures, Lana! The water lilies is stunning, but so are they all. Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I know you've had a fabulous year.

The water lillies, dug beetle and pic of Yaupon Holly are my favorites of the bunch. I think we have Yaupon holly in the back of our place. Even though they kinda look like little berries, I'm kinda thinkin' that they might be poisonous.

So Don't Eat Them! :)

And congratulations on this being your 3rd year anniversary!

Congratulations my blog sister! My blogiversary is Tuesday and you were my winner last year! :-)

The photos are splendid. I am glad to see your efforts are paying off. Never give up!

Lana Gramlich said...

Punam; Thanks and congratulations back atcha! ;) *hug*

Maalie; Thanks. It's a really cool area.

Funkkeejooce; Thanks. Water lilies are a favorite subject of mine, so sometimes I can happily go overboard at this site, where they're so prolific! I'm off to Arts Evening shortly, so the weekend's off to a good start. ;)

G; Thank you! I'm glad you found me, too. No pressure on the visits or comments, ever. We all have lives to lead, too!

Charles; Yes...Already!

The Aethernaut; Thank you. :) "Doing well" doesn't always equate to "making money," but it's been a fun ride, regardless. ;) Charles pointed out the scarab--I just walked right by it.

TT & nothingprofound; Thanks, hon. I appreciate the input & support. :) *hug*

Kelly; Actually the yaupon holly berries are just fine--the birds LOVE them. Regardless, I'm not about to make a jelly out of them. *L* Glad you enjoyed the photos. Thanks for the well wishes!

TJ Lubrano; Thanks & back atcha. ;) The scarab was a nice bonus on our way back to the car. Never a dull moment at Big Branch!

Erik; Thanks for the congrats, hon. I appreciate your support. You may be my longest reader, actually, and that deserves a special thanks. E-mail me when you get a chance. ;)

Michelle (artscapes); I remember winning last year. Those postcards were just wonderful! Happy impending blogiversary to you! *hug* Thanks for the support, particularly in during times when I was ready to hang up my brushes. Thanks for getting me through!
